1974: Randy Bachman, the former lead guitarist for The Guess Who, enjoyed a number one song with his new band, Bachman-Turner Overdrive. Randy stuttered through the lyrics of "You Ain't Seen Nothin' Yet" on a demo recording as a private joke about his brother Gary, who had a speech impediment. The record company liked that take better than the non-stammering version and released it. The song not only gave the band their third US top thirty hit and a #2 in the UK, Gary Bachman stopped stuttering.

1969: "Wedding Bell Blues" topped the Billboard Hot 100, giving The Fifth Dimension their second US number one record. The song was originally recorded as a private joke between group members Marilyn McCoo and Billy Davis Jr., who were engaged at the time.

1981: Daryl Hall and John Oates achieve their third US number one single with "Private Eyes". Over the next three years they would have three more. "Private Eyes" reached #32 in the UK.

1965: After the success of "Satisfaction", The Rolling Stones top the Billboard Hot 100 for the second time with "Get Off of My Cloud". Keith Richards would later say, "I never dug it as a record. The chorus was a nice idea, but we rushed it as the follow-up."

1983: The Fixx, a New Wave, Techno-Pop band from London, England, enjoy their peak U.S. chart success when "One Thing Leads To Another" reaches #4 on the Billboard chart. The song would later be featured in the video game Grand Theft Auto: Vice City on the fictional radio station Flash FM. It also turned up in an episode of TV's Everybody Hates Chris and in the movie The House of the Devil.
