1968: The Doors' "Touch Me" is released. With a guitar intro strongly influenced by The Four Seasons' "C'mon Marianne", the song would reach #3 on the Billboard Hot 100, #1 in Canada, #10 in Australia, but didn't chart at all in the UK.

1969: The Supremes final single release with Diana Ross, "Someday We'll Be Together", becomes the last US number one song of the sixties. It made #13 in the UK.

1964: The Beatles led the Billboard Pop chart and the Cashbox Best Sellers list with "I Feel Fine", a song that John Lennon would claim was the first Rock 'n' Roll record to use feedback. The flip side of the single, "She's A Woman" sat at #4.

1954: Bing Crosby's "White Christmas" enters the Billboard Pop chart for the first time, seven years after it was recorded. According to Guinness World Records, Bing's rendition has sold over 100 million copies around the world, with at least 50 million sales as singles. It was the largest selling single in the US and the UK until it was surpassed by Elton John's "Candle in the Wind 1997". (Princess Diana version)
