1977: At the 19th annual Grammy Awards, statues were presented to Stevie Wonder for Album Of The Year for "Songs In The Key Of Life", and Best Pop Vocal Performance - Male for "I Wish". Best New Artist went to The Starland Vocal Band. Chicago was cited for Best Pop Vocal Performance By A Duo Or Group for "If You Leave Me Now" and Linda Ronstadt won Best Pop Vocal Performance - Female for "Hasten Down The Wind".

1977: "Blinded By The Light" reached the top of the Billboard singles chart for Manfred Mann's Earth Band, although it had earlier been a commercial failure for the song's writer, Bruce Springsteen.

1968: Tommy Boyce and Bobby Hart enjoy their biggest success as recording artists when "I Wonder What She's Doing Tonight" peaks at #8, where it will stay for three consecutive weeks. As songwriters, the duo wrote "Last Train To Clarksville", "Come A Little Bit Closer", "Hurt So Bad", "Valleri", and many more.

1966: James Brown records "It's A Man's Man's Man's World" at Bob Gallo's Talentmasters studio in New York. The song would top the Billboard R&B chart and reach #13 in the UK. The song was originally called "It's A Man's World", but Brown added the extra words to the title as a reference to the 1963 hit comedy It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World.
