1985: Cyndi Lauper became the first female recording artist since Bobbie Gentry in 1967 to be nominated for five Grammy Awards: Album of the Year, Best New Artist, Best Pop Vocal Performance (Female), Record of the Year and Song of the Year. She would win Best New Artist at the February 26th show.

1965: The UK music show Juke Box Jury, a program where four panelists review new Pop music, turns thumbs down on The Righteous Brothers' latest release, "You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling", calling it "a miss." It will prove to be one of the most talked about miscalculations in the show's history, as the tune would go on to top both the UK and US charts.

1979: The Canadian Rock trio Rush were named as the country's official Ambassadors Of Music by the Canadian government.

1980: Led Zeppelin's "In Through the Out Door" is awarded a Platinum disc. It's the last album issued before the September 25th death of drummer John Bonham.

1958: Danny And The Juniors' Rock 'n' Roll classic "At The Hop" was the number one song in the US. Originally written as "Do the Bop", American Bandstand host Dick Clark advised the group to re-write the lyrics because the dance known as The Bop was on its way out. Clark was right and the Philadelphia quartet's record stayed in the top spot for a month.
