1980: Blondie scores their second Billboard number one hit with "Call Me", a song featured in the Richard Gere movie American Gigolo. The track was also a #1 in the UK.

1974: James Brown receives a Gold record for the single "The Payback", which had topped the Billboard R&B chart. It would also peak at #26 on the Billboard Hot 100 in May, becoming his second and final single to be certified Gold by the RIAA.

1961: Paul Revere And The Raiders' first US chart hit, "Like Long Hair" tops out at #38 on the Billboard chart. The song was a boogie-woogie arrangement of Rachmaninoff's "Prelude in C-Sharp Minor" and featured Revere on piano.
